The Grant Park Music Festival's String and Vocal Fellowships aim to guide early career musicians toward successful professional careers in music. Come be a part of the nation’s longest running free outdoor summer classical music series!

We have so many great things in store for this summer's string and vocal fellows including concerts and master classes with world renowned classical and pops artists, a high-profile recital series featuring solo opera arias and chamber works, an opportunity to work with today's best composers in world premiere performances and performing for 10,000+ people in downtown Chicago with the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus

STRING FELLOWSHIP DETAILS
June 10 - August 3, 2024

  • ELIGIBLE MUSICIANS: Grant Park Music Festival Fellowships are designed to support the development of outstanding early-career string players (violin, viola, cello) and vocalists from populations historically underrepresented in American symphony orchestras, including but not limited to underrepresented racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and geographic groups, and who are attending or have graduated from a college, university or conservatory level music program
  • AVAILABLE: Violin (2), Viola, Cello
  • FELLOWSHIP STIPEND: Minimum of $1,000 per week (approx $8,000 total)
  • String Video Application Deadline: Friday, February 16, 2024
  • Live Audition for Finalists: March 15, 2024 *applicants traveling over 50 miles are eligible for travel support

VOCAL FELLOWSHIP DETAILS
June 3 - June 29, 2024

  • ELIGIBLE MUSICIANS: Grant Park Music Festival Fellowships are designed to support the development of outstanding early-career string players (violin, viola, cello) and vocalists from populations historically underrepresented in American symphony orchestras, including but not limited to underrepresented racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and geographic groups, and who are attending or have graduated from a college, university or conservatory level music program
  • AVAILABLE: Soprano, Alto/Mezzo, Tenor, Baritone/Bass 
  • FELLOWSHIP STIPEND: Minimum of $1,000 per week (approx $4,000 total)
  • Vocal Video Application Deadline: DEADLINE IS NOW CLOSED FOR 2024
  • Live Audition for Finalists: February 20, 2024 *applicants traveling over 50 miles are eligible for travel support
