Video auditions for the 2024-2025 season are accepted on a rolling basis starting on September 1, 2023. We will continue to accept video auditions until all positions for the 2024-2025 season have been filled. 

American Ballet Theatre Studio Company seeks to develop the next generation of ballet dancers, choreographers and audiences. The central mission of ABT Studio Company is to prepare its exceptionally promising dancers for careers in American Ballet Theatre’s main Company or other leading ballet companies worldwide. ABT Studio Company serves as the crucial vehicle for transitioning from student to professional performer. 80% of current American Ballet Theatre dancers are alumni of ABT Studio Company, including fourteen Principal Dancers and six Soloists. Each season, ABT Studio Company commissions emerging and established choreographers to create new works on Studio Company dancers, serving as a platform for new choreography. ABT Studio Company engages the broadest possible ballet audience by performing classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire in a range of venues around the globe.

To be considered for ABT Studio Company, auditioning dancers should ideally be between the ages of 17 and 20 (minimum age 16) at the time of the audition and must have reached an advanced level of ballet training. 

Instructions for submitting a video audition:

1. To complete your video audition, begin by selecting “ABT Studio Company” from the drop-down "Start an Application" menu on the left. This page includes all of the information about requirements for audition videos and materials.
2. You will be asked to upload a resume, headshot, first arabesque photo, and link to your audition video. 
3. You will receive a confirmation email once your submission has been completed.

We ask that you pay close attention to the audition requirements (detailed on the “Guidelines” page, which you will see by selecting "ABT Studio Company" from the dropdown menu to the left). There will be a $41.50 application fee, payable by credit card. If you are unable to pay this fee, you may apply for a need-based fee waiver with the proper documentation. More information can be found here.

We look forward to reviewing your submission! Please give the ABT Studio Company Artistic Staff several weeks to review your materials.

Selected dancers may be invited to take class with the Studio Company following the review of video audition materials. If the Artistic Staff would like to see more from you or invite you to audition in person, you will be contacted directly via the email address you supply with your submission.  Please note that submitting a video audition does not guarantee an invitation for an in-person audition.

While we make a concerted effort to follow up with all applicants, due to the volume of auditions received, we can only guarantee follow up with those from whom we would like to see more. Thank you!
