About ACU:
Abilene Christian University is a premier university for the education of Christ-centered, global leaders, offering an exceptional education to about 5,200 students annually from nearly every state and 42 nations. Located in Abilene, Texas (about 150 miles west of the Dallas/Fort Worth area), the community offers a wide range of musical and artistic performance and entertainment opportunities including the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra, the Classical Chorus of Abilene, Broadway in Abilene, musicals at the Historic Paramount Theatre, and numerous church orchestras and praise bands.

The ACU Department of Music is committed to preparing outstanding musicians and leaders in our profession, and to reflect God’s creative force and presence in our lives and art. Our creative faculty:
  • Develop and inspire students artistically as comprehensive musicians; 
  • Prepare students to teach effectively and competently in schools and studios;
  • Provide training and direction for talented students who desire to perform professionally or who wish to utilize their music degrees in the music industry; and
  • Guide and encourage young musicians in seeking ways to live Christ-centered lives and be Christian role models within the music profession.

  • Submit high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores (or apply test-optional)
  • Schedule your Music audition to be considered for scholarships
Auditions
General scholarship auditions are held each year for incoming freshmen and transfer students. Personal auditions or video auditions are required. Video auditions must be received by the video audition deadline. Live auditions may be performed on departmental audition days or by appointments scheduled on an individual basis. Scholarships

Music scholarships are available by audition to qualified music and non-music majors. Big Purple Marching Band scholarships require no audition. All music scholarships are recommended by a committee of ACU music faculty and are approved Student Financial Services.
