Established in 1938, Adelphi University’s performance-based B.F.A. program draws on its rich history with a keen eye on today’s dance world. You’ll practice your craft in small classes taught by our experienced faculty. In a department that typically consists of about 50 majors, ranging from freshmen to seniors, you’ll become part of a close-knit group of peers and professionals. You’ll perfect your classical ballet and modern dance techniques and your creative skills in our four state-of-the-art dance studios, while building core knowledge in theory and composition as well as history and criticism. Outside of the studio, you’ll perform main stage productions and student workshops under the guidance of world-renowned faculty and guest choreographers. In addition to your dance studies, you’ll complete a solid and diverse academic course load.
