ABOUT BALLET IDAHO ACADEMY:

Ballet Idaho is home to Ballet Idaho Academy (BIA), making it the only academy in Idaho affiliated with a professional ballet company. BIA provides students with a unique opportunity to learn, observe, and be inspired by a professional company of dancers, choreographers, and highly skilled instructors. Located in the heart of downtown Boise, BIA's beautiful campus and studios are sure to inspire all artists.

Classes, Schedule, and Faculty:
Our 2024 Summer Intensive is for intermediate and advanced students, ages 10 – 22. The four-week program will focus on 25 – 35 hours weekly of Ballet, Pointe & Variations, and offer supplemental courses in Conditioning, Contemporary, Jazz, Choreography, and More. Class size is limited to give each student close attention. Faculty includes highly trained Ballet Idaho instructors, stage to studio company members, and renowned local and national choreographers.

Wrapping up the wonderful experience, an informal showcase will take place on Friday, August 2, 2024, highlighting student accomplishments.

Back by popular demand is the ‘Company Experience’, taking place in the 4th week. Replicating a day in a life of a professional dancer, each day students will work with Ballet Idaho company members and artistic staff as they delve into Ballet Idaho Repertory. Our program uniquely offers high school Seniors special coaching in audition and video preparation for colleges and companies, as well as seminars on the topic.

Accommodations:
In collaboration with Boise State University (BSU), students may reside on BSU’s beautiful campus (just a 10-minute walk to our studios), and enjoy their dining services for breakfast and dinner. Chaperones will be provided for young students in the dorms and will accompany them to and from the studios. With an array of close-by restaurants and cafes in downtown Boise, students will be responsible for their lunches.
