You may also submit and application for the Eva Marie Saint Scholarship as well as additional acting scholarship. Click the labeled tab to your left to begin that process. The Eva Marie Saint Scholarship is awarded annually to an incoming student with an Acting/Directing or Musical Theatre Specialization. Please note that additional acting scholarships are available for both incoming and current BGSU theatre students.

The Musical Theatre Specialization degree program is for the performance student interested in training for musical theatre performance, providing a strong foundation in the areas of vocal performance, acting, and dance, while allowing the freedom to explore various interests within the broader scope of a liberal arts education. Based in the Department of Theatre and Film, the BAC Specialization in Musical Theatre is a rigorous training program with the flexibility that allows students the opportunity to greatly explore the world around them.

Faculty in the Department of Theatre and Film at BGSU strive to create a supportive and creative learning environment in which students are challenged to achieve personal excellence even as they support their classmates through collaboration and an atmosphere of mutual respect. Our specialization in musical theatre represents a collaboration bridging the College of Musical Arts, the Department of Theatre and Film, and the Dance Program at BGSU. The Department of Theatre and Film is located in the Wolfe Center for the Arts, which opened in January 2012, a facility designed by the award-winning Norwegian architectural firm, Snøhetta.

As we encourage our students to explore a broad range of interests, we have had students who had more than one specialization or double major outside of the department or in Film. We have graduated majors that have gone on to perform in in National Tours, Professional Regional Theatre and even a recent Tony Award Winner for producing a Broadway Musical! Graduates have also found success in many professional endeavors outside of the theatre world.
