Music
The College of Musical Arts at Bowling Green State University prepares music professionals for state and national leadership roles in teaching, research, and creativity in all of the musical arts. We aspire to be recognized nationally as a premier music learning community. Since 1947, the College of Musical Arts has been an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
Undergraduate Degrees: Music Education, Music Performance, Music Composition, Jazz Studies, World Music, Music History & Literature, and Musical Arts (Interdisciplinary). Audition Information
Incoming undergraduate students who wish to major in music, minor in music, be considered for scholarships, or enroll in private music lessons for credit are required to present an entrance audition with the College of Musical Arts faculty. More information about auditions, including dates, can be found here.
- Final Music Scholarship consideration deadlines:
- Live Virtual Auditions: February 24th, 2023
- Live In Person Auditions: February 25th, 2023
- Recorded Auditions: Materials must be submitted by February 20th, 2023
Incoming graduate students in performance music present an entrance audition. Domestic applicants who wish to be considered for a music performance assistantship must present a virtual audition. Graduate applicants in Composition, Ethnomusicology, Music Education, Music History and Music Theory must complete a virtual interview for admission to the program. - Final Assistantship consideration deadline is February 25th, 2023.
Musical Theatre
Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a specialization in Musical Theatre is a liberal arts degree in Theatre with a focus in the Musical Theatre Performance, in which we encourage our students to explore a broad range of interests in a supportive and creative learning environment.
