Welcome to the Acceptd page of the Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic    BYP LAB (16 -19 September, 2014) The BYP LAB brings together all educational activities: orchestra rehearsals, sectional coachings, chamber music projects, composers' workshop, training workshop for assistant conductors and an education outreach training programme. 
The BYP LAB helps young musicians to stretch their artistic boundaries in an environment that celebrates exploration and experimentation. The next BYP LAB will take place between 16 - 19 September, 2014 in Usedom, Germany.

BYP LAB Composers Workshop with Daniel Schnyder
The BYP LAB composers workshop will be led by Daniel Schnyder who is known as a composer and performer with a dynamic reputation in both jazz and classical fields.  

You will benefit from Daniel Schnyder's hands-on approach to composition, his vast knowledge of styles, traditions and orchestral colours. You will also get a chance to talk directly to the BYP orchestral members to understand how best to compose for the instruments in the orchestra.  

During the workshop of 4 days, you will each compose a new piece that culminates in an orchestral performance. This is a unique chance to receive direct and constructive feedback from musicians of the BYP orchestra and the conductor Kristjan Järvi.

Join BYP! Founding Conductor & Music Director Kristjan Järvi unites the most talented young musicians aged 18 to 29 from around the Baltic Sea states for a unique educational and musical experience. The idea of BYP is to create a New Voice in the North: innovative, creative and outstanding. Music without borders. Believing that music knows no boundaries, limitations or borders.   "One of the best opportunities for young musicians. The spirit of these young people is stunning!" Kurt Masur   New Vibes! Estonian-born and American-raised conductor Kristjan Järvi is an unique musical personality pushing classical borders with charisma and fresh ideas. Hailed by the New York Times as "a kinetic force on the podium, like Leonard Bernstein reborn", Järvi is renowned worldwide for inventive programming, brave collaborations and cross-cultural/cross-genre repertoire. His goal is to "create new vibes" in order to instil "an open and lively approach to music" in young musicians.   Kristjan Järvi is the Music Director of the MDR Radio Symphony Orchestra, and appears regularly with the Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Rome and NHK Symphony Japan.     To Apply!  We are interested to receive your application if you wish to be considered for our 2014 tours.
