Welcome!

Thank you for your interest in Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) for the 2025-26 season!  Prior to applying, we recommend you read BYSO’s updated information about the audition process here.

Please use this portal to submit your application and application fee, upload your preliminary audition video (new string players only) or schedule a live audition, communicate about your audition, and more.

Step 1 - Complete Your Application
To start your application, please select your instrument in the program field from the menu on the left. You will then sign up for an account on Acceptd. Note: If you are registering a student under age 16 or are registering multiple children, you will be required to create a parent account before creating your applicant’s account. 

You will be prompted to submit the $55 application fee upon completion of the application.

Step 2 – New String Players (not currently participating in a BYSO ensemble in the 2024-25 season)
Preliminary Audition Video – Once you submit the application, you will be prompted to upload your preliminary audition video directly to the Acceptd site. Please return to your Acceptd Account, click View > next to your BYSO submission, and then the green Continue Application button. Your video can be uploaded any time between the date the application is submitted and the March 31 deadline. However, your application will not be considered complete until your video has been successfully uploaded. Please review the Video Audition Instructions and FAQ in the program guidelines.

The final deadline to submit the preliminary video is Monday, March 31 at 11:59pm.

Results from the preliminary audition video will be released in late April. Students awarded a live audition will also receive an audition scheduling link at this time. Students are encouraged to schedule the live audition as early as possible after receiving the link, as audition slots will fill up quickly.

Step 2 - Current BYSO String Players
Following the submission of the application and application fee, students will receive a confirmation email. The deadline to apply is Sunday, March 31. Scheduling links for the live audition will be released via your Acceptd account in early April. Students are encouraged to schedule the live audition as soon as possible after receiving the link, as audition slots will fill up quickly.

Step 2 - Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, Piano, and Harp
Following the submission of the application and application fee, students will automatically receive a link to schedule their live audition. You will not be able to schedule a live audition until after your application and application fee have been submitted. Students are encouraged to schedule the live audition as soon as possible after receiving the link, as audition slots will fill up quickly.
