Our goal is to create programs that achieve substantial and lasting contributions to the future of the arts. Every CAP21 endeavor embraces the following values:
- collaboration and exchange between emerging and accomplished artists
- a nurturing support system
- an infusion of the traditional with the innovative
- a commitment to serving and cultivating a diverse audience
CAP21 has several different training options, 4 of which require either an in-person or electronic audition submitted through the getacceptd.com network. The details of each program are as follows:
1. 2-Year Professional Musical Theatre Program
The 2-Year Professional Musical Theatre Training Program trains actors to be competitive in the industry. Unlike other programs that allow students to take only a few classes in dance or music, the 2-Year Professional Musical Theatre Training Program is designed to prepare students in all three disciplines.
Productions are built into the curriculum and students apply the skills from their courses directly into performance ranging from a Pop-Rock Night to a Main Stage Musical. CAP21's faculty is comprised of the finest teachers and working professionals.
Graduates of the CAP21 2-Year Professional Musical Theatre Program can now transfer academic credits towards a Bachelor's degree from The New School for Public Engagement – a division of The New School (Click Here for More Info) or after 4 semesters of study, students may audition to participate in the Musical Theatre Industry Practicum and Showcase which is a three month training program of musical theater audition courses and master classes taught by Broadway casting directors, composers, lyricists, directors, producers, agents, CAP21 faculty, and other major industry professionals.
