The National Chopin Piano Competition of the United States
is designed to offer performance opportunities and financial support to young American pianists, and to enable the Prize Winners to take part in the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland. Initiated in 1975, and held in Miami every five years, the National Chopin Piano Competition's rules reflect closely the regulations and requirements of the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland.

Please note that a separate application must be submitted to the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw by December 1, 2024. Please visit HERE for more information.

Competition Repertoire

COMPETITION PRIZES
First Prize: $100,000

Second Prize: $30,000

Third Prize: $20,000

Three finalists/non-medalists: $5,000 each

Semifinalist not advanced to the finals: $1,000 each

Special Prizes: $2,000 each
Best Mazurka, Best Polonaise, Best Sonata, Best Concerto

OTHER PRIZES
First Prize Winner:
Concert tour in the United States and abroad.

First and Second Prize Winners:
Automatic admission to the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in October 2025

Third Prize Winner:
Automatic Acceptance to the Preliminary Round of the 19th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, October 2025 Travel expenses covered by the Chopin Foundation.

Other Finalists:
All-expense-paid trip to Warsaw, Poland, to attend the Preliminary Round for the 19th International Chopin Piano Competition in October 2025, if accepted.
