The core of Choral Chameleon, the Ensemble, currently comprised of sixteen professional singers, represents the best combination of musicianship and diversity of musical backgrounds in NYC. They are fearless pioneers in the world of new choral music, having premiered more than 180 new choral works to date, and are respected for their adventurous programming, bringing Choral Chameleon’s signature experience to audiences beyond NYC.

Our semi-professional Chorus of 50+ voices meets weekly in Manhattan, with the Ensemble at its core, and it is changing the way people experience the art of choral singing in their everyday lives. It brings the joy and adventure of the Choral Chameleon way of music-making to a wider array of talented singers and expands the possibilities of how choral music is presented in NYC.

INSTITUTE
The Choral Chameleon Summer Institute is designed to immerse emerging composers and conductors of choral music in the intricacies of the choral idiom in a nurturing environment surrounded by respected professionals. It gives students an opportunity to explore and experiment with writing and conducting techniques in a ‘best-case scenario’. Generous lab and podium time is given to all participants to ensure maximum practical and hands-on experience. The spirit of innovation married with a traditional perspective on matters of musicianship work in tandem to provide our students with skills that can enable unlimited thinking.
