The Theatre School at DePaul University is one of America's oldest and most respected theatre conservatories. Since 1925, we have prepared students for careers in professional theatre and throughout the entertainment industry. Our highly specialized programs employ a learning-by-doing approach, featuring student work in all areas of production in more than 40 plays each season. Our students learn their profession under the guidance of a diverse and talented faculty and staff of working artists. And all of this takes place in the heart of Chicago, acclaimed as one of the greatest theatre cities in the world.

We also recently opened our new state-of-the-art 165,000 square foot facility including two new theatre spaces – a 250-seat thrust and a 100-seat flexible black box; all new classrooms and rehearsal studios; costume, makeup, prop, and scene shops; and lighting, sound, and media laboratories.

The Theatre School offers BFA programs in acting, costume design, costume technology, dramaturgy/criticism, lighting design, playwriting, scenic design, sound design, stage management, theatre arts, theatre management, and theatre technology. We also offer MFA programs in acting, arts leadership, and directing.

Applicants to the BFA Stage Management program must submit the application requirements and their portfolio for pre-screening no later than January 15, 2016.  Stage Management applicants who pass the pre-screening will be invited to interview.  Complete application requirements are available from The Theatre School’s website. Portfolios must be submitted via Acceptd by selecting Stage Management from the menu above.
