The Dallas International Music Festival & Competition

Every year in June, the Dallas Chamber Symphony hosts the Dallas International Music Festival and Competition, which in successive years, focuses on pianists, cellists, and violinists. The annual event is comprised of two separate, but concurrently running parts; 1) an international "Pro" competition for classically trained performers aged 18 to 35 (inclusive) who are ready to launch a solo career, and 2) a "Youth" festival of performances and masterclasses for those aged 14 to 17 (inclusive) and residing in North Texas, who have reached an advanced level of performance on their instrument.

In 2023, the festival and competition will focus on violin, and be held as follows:

Competition Application Deadline: April 30, 2023 at 11:59pm (central) We will continue to accept late applications until our review process has been completed, at which time our online application form will be closed.​

Competition and Festival Events in Dallas: June 14-20, 2023 in Dallas, TX

Performers who are interested in participating in either the competition or the youth masterclasses can review the entry conditions, and additional details about the competition rounds in the regulations for their respective program. The application and preliminary audition process for each program will be completed entirely online.
