CL - Dallas Symphony Orchestra Young Strings Summer Camp

The DSO Young Strings program holds summer camps for all string students (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), 5th grade and older. These are intensive, week-long workshops, led by DSO and other professionals, designed to help students improve their technique and musicianship through work in chamber ensembles. Both camps are held at the Meyerson Symphony Center (2301 Flora St.)

The first week of camp for students currently working in Suzuki books 1-3 (or equivalent repertoire), runs from July 29 - August 2.

The second week of camp, for students currently working in Suzuki book 4 or higher (or equivalent repertoire), runs from August 5-9.

Application Process: Students interested in applying for the Summer Chamber Camp must submit an online application and pay the $30 application fee by July 15 on Acceptd.

Once the student receives an acceptance email into the program, applicants will then submit their summer camp program payment directly to the DSO. Checks should be made out to the Dallas Symphony Association, and mailed to the attention of:

Drop off and pick up:

Parents may drop off students to the front lobby of the building and they can walk inside and go to the lower level into Horchow Hall. Pick up will be at 3:35pm at the front entrance of the building.

What to Bring:

Bring a sweat shirt or sweater- the air conditioner works great here
Bring your own sack lunch, snacks, and water bottle each day.
Bring an instrument and any supplies- rock stop, rosin, bow, etc.
