Our Commitment to Inclusive Excellence
The Elon University Department of Performing Arts believes Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to be essential in the pursuit of genuine creativity and artistic excellence. We believe that a diverse student body and professional workforce consist of a wide range of identities including but not limited to race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, ability, age, religion, spirituality, and socio-economic background. We recognize identity-based advantages and barriers exist in the performing arts and vow to address these disparities in equity and access for the betterment of our department and the future of our profession. We are committed to inclusive excellence within our teaching, artistry, and scholarship, and as it pertains to the department’s current and future students, staff, and faculty.
