Before you begin the online application process carefully read the Wertheim School of Music’s audition submission requirements and application instructions, which can be found on the Wertheim School of Music’s website. This will give you all the information necessary for both steps of the application process.

Please follow the steps listed below:
1. Complete the online application to Florida International University - Applicants who do not complete FIU’s online university application cannot be fully reviewed for admission by the School of Music, nor can they be considered for music scholarships or graduate assistantships. The link to the undergraduate application is available here, and the link to the graduate application is available here.
2. Complete your Acceptd application - Completing the Acceptd prescreening process is essential and required of all students applying to The Wertheim School of Music. If you pass the prescreening you will be invited to a live audition. Live audition dates are listed below. In the prescreening application, you will be asked to select your preferred live audition date.
Note: Your materials must be submitted through Acceptd 2 weeks prior to your preferred live audition date.
Audition dates for the 2025-2026 academic year are:
- November 15, 2025 (apply by November 1, 2025 on GetAcceptd and FIU)
- February 7, 2026 (apply by January 24, 2026)
- March 7, 2026 (apply by February 22, 2026)
3. Complete additional requirements - The Music Business, Music Composition, Music Education, and Music Technology majors and many Masters programs (the MS in Music Education, the MM programs in Music Management & Production and Music Technology) require submitting writing samples, videos, and/or portfolios via Acceptd. Please note that the graduate music programs outside of performance do not require an audition on an instrument/voice. Other materials/interviews are required instead.
