Welcome to the online pre-screening portal for the Herbert & Nicole Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts at Florida International University!

Before you begin the online application process carefully read the Wertheim School of Music’s audition submission requirements and application instructions, which can be found on the Wertheim School of Music’s website. This will give you all the information necessary for both steps of the application process.

Consult specific program listings for applicable requirements in your area of interest (BA, Music Education, Performance, Technology, Composition, etc). You can start here. 

Please follow the steps listed below:

1. Complete the online application to Florida International University - Applicants who do not complete FIU’s online university application cannot be fully reviewed for admission by the School of Music, nor can they be considered for music scholarships or graduate assistantships. 2. Complete your GetAcceptd application - Completing the GetAcceptd prescreening process is essential and required of all students applying to The Wertheim School of Music. If you pass the prescreening you will be invited to a live audition. Live audition dates are listed below. In the prescreening application, you will be asked to select your preferred live audition date.
Note: Your materials must be submitted through GetAcceptd 2 weeks prior to your preferred live audition date.

Audition dates for the 2023-20234 academic year are:

• November 18, 2023 (apply by November 4, 2023)
• February 17, 2024 (apply by February 3, 2024)
• March 16, 2024 (apply by March 2, 2024)

3. Complete additional requirements - The Music Business, Music Technology, Music Education, and Composition majors and many Masters programs (the MS in Music Education, the MM programs in Composition, Music Technology, and Music Business) require submitting writing samples, videos, and/or portfolios via GetAcceptd. Please note that the graduate music programs outside of performance do not require an audition on an instrument/voice. Other materials/interviews are required instead.
