Summer Music Theatre Intensive
The Florida State University summer Music Theatre Intensive is a three-week program designed to offer rising high school Juniors and Seniors (11th and 12th grade) an opportunity to gain exposure to the rigorous training experienced in competitive college and university degree programs.

Students will have daily workshops in acting, movement, voice and dance with Florida State University faculty and alumni. Focus will be placed on audition skills and audition packages for both casting opportunities and college admissions. The Program will conclude with a cabaret highlighting the participant’s accomplishments.

The dates for the Music Theatre Intensive are July 13 - July 26, 2025. The cost for the program is $2,800.00, which includes: tuition, fees, housing and meals. Music Theatre Intensive students will be housed on campus in dormitories. Meals will be provided by FSU dining services. 

Undergraduate Programs
The School of Theatre at Florida State University is consistently recognized as one of the finest theatre programs in the nation. We offer three degree options for undergraduate students and a wide variety of opportunities to explore the many areas within the theatre:

BA Program
The Bachelor of Arts is a flexible liberal arts degree offering an extensive knowledge of theatre arts. The program, offering a balance of theatre core classes and electives, allows students the freedom to design their own curriculum.

This is an ideal program for a student with multiple interests in theatre. In a given semester, the School of Theatre offers classes in performance, directing, various aspects of design and technical work, specific areas of theatre history and performance studies, dramaturgy, theatre management, playwriting, play analysis, and stage makeup.

Music Theatre
The Music Theatre Program is a joint program offered through the College of Music and the School of Theatre with assistance from the School of Dance. The Music Theatre Program is a highly competitive program which prepares talented students from around the country for professional careers. Students are offered a comprehensive curriculum with courses in theatre, music, and dance to provide them with the training and skills necessary to meet the demands of a challenging career. In addition to course work, students have a variety of performance opportunities every year, including two musicals each season.

BFA Acting Program
The Acting Program at FSU is an extremely competitive program designed to prepare highly talented students for work in professional theatre. In addition to the core of required theatre courses, this comprehensive curriculum includes a sequence of courses in acting, voice, movement, and specialized workshops.

To begin the selection process, all prospective students must submit an
Application for Admission to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions

Once the application to Florida State University has been submitted the prospective student will upload the required prescreen materials as supplements to the Florida State University application through the Office of Admissions.
