Grand Rapids Symphony

J.S. Bach was a peerless innovator whose inventiveness as a composer continues to inspire musicians today. Linn Maxwell Keller  founded the Grand Rapids Bach Festival because she was inspired by Bach’s genius and creativity. To foster the careers of creative, outstanding young musicians while honoring Linn’s love of the creative spirit of Bach, the Grand Rapids Bach Festival has established the Linn Maxwell Keller Distinguished Bach Musician Award (The Keller Award). Launched as a vocal competition and held in conjunction with the biennial Grand Rapids Bach Festival, this award may be expanded in the future to include other musical disciplines. To identify gifted, qualified award recipients, the competition will rely on a process that includes online submissions, professional recommendations and will be guided by highly skilled and respected adjudicators.
