Indiana University's Midsummer Theatre Camp will return SUMMER 2025.

Midsummer Theatre Camp is a dynamic two-week immersive theatre and drama institute designed especially for young people serious about studying theatre. Classes are taught by IU faculty, outstanding teaching assistants, and professional guest artists. Together, students and theatre professionals share the common endeavor of building an intensive ensemble.

Over the years, the Midsummer Theatre Camp has enjoyed tremendous success. We accept a limited number of dedicated students from around the country for challenging and rewarding theatrical training in design, acting, or musical theatre. Our students develop their talents while gaining exposure to one of the richest cultural landscapes in the country. Students who have completed 8th grade or above are eligible for the camp. However, the program is most useful for juniors/rising seniors who are looking to prepare material for college and conservatory interviews and auditions.

We have three divisions from which students may choose to focus.

Acting for Stage and Screen: intensive acting training in contemporary drama and other genres of stage acting, as well as camera acting technique. The program culminates in a live one-act play performance.

Musical Theatre: triple-threat training in acting, singing, and dancing, including rehearsal techniques and one-on-one voice coaching sessions. The program culminates in a live one-act musical performance.

Design and Tech Creation: for students interested in learning about how the world of stagecraft comes alive from behind the scenes. The program culminates in a design display and technical support and designs featured in the two live productions.
