Welcome to the Bailey School of Music at Kennesaw State University!

The Bailey School of Music serves over 1600 students, including 250 majors in a vibrant learning community. At BSOM, over 80 faculty members and professional staff are fully devoted to your development, be it as a music educator, performer, and/or scholar who will shape the future of music and society.

The Bailey School of Music admits students in the Fall (August) and Spring (January) semesters each year. The application deadline is 1 week prior to your chosen audition date.


Audition Dates for Fall 2023 admission to the Bailey School of Music.

*Friday, April 14, 2023 (not a scholarship consideration audition date)

Video auditions (uploaded to the application) will be accepted until May 1, 2023


*All Friday audition dates will include an opportunity to be a "KSU Bailey School of Music Owl" for the day by attending a rehearsal and lunch in our dining commons prior to auditioning for the faculty. 


We offer two degree programs and a minor:

  • The Bachelor of Music in Performance is intended for students who wish to study all aspects of performance and who intend to pursue graduate study and careers as performers. Concentrations are available in instrumental, jazz, piano, voice performance,theory, and composition.
  • The Bachelor of Music in Music Education is intended for students who wish to teach elementary (general) music, or middle school or high school band, orchestra or choir.
  • The Minor in Music is intended for students who wish to pursue a major in a non-music discipline, but who still want to study theory, take applied lessons, and perform in the ensembles.

If you want to become a Major or a Minor, you must complete this application and perform an audition for the faculty.

Please submit your application to Kennesaw State University before completing this application (you will need your KSU ID number and KSU email address). You DO NOT need to have been admitted to KSU before applying and auditioning.

Current KSU music majors and minors can use Acceptd to enter jury information, be sure to select the jury application.
