Macy’s Singing Christmas Tree

Welcome to our 2022 Macy’s Singing Christmas Tree audition site! On behalf of the entire Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade team, we are so excited to offer the return of this exciting parade experience to you, the talented colleagues of Macy’s, Inc.— Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury! 

Now, to submit an audition that best reflects your talent, we ask that you follow this simple online audition process. First, click on the “Resources” tab above to download music tracks and sheet music needed for your audition.  

Once inside the audition site, we will ask for some contact information and for you to share some of your previous singing and choral experiences. 

The most important application materials you submit will be your audition videos. These videos do not need to be professional quality; a simple video recorded with your smartphone is perfectly sufficient. Please note, however, that you should review your video and make sure it’s of good quality — make sure your singing voice sounds clear and offers a good representation of your sound.  

This year, we’ve once again added piano accompaniment for your audition video. Please be sure to use the piano track when making your recording. Keep in mind, the selection committee needs to hear your voice clearly in order to make the proper decisions. We will consider your voice for multiple voice parts based on your range and the other applicants. You should only submit ONE application. 

We will also request a video of you answering a few simple questions. Please film this video blog-style, looking directly into the camera, answering the questions candidly and casually. Remember, personality counts so be sure to let your spirit shine through!   
 
We've also added an additional singing video option for those who would like the freedom to show off their voice and personality.  This video should feature 16 bars a cappella of any song of your choice.  It’s important to note that this video is 100% optional. 

This audition process is simple so that every colleague from the Macy's, Inc. family can participate. Whether you’re a trained singer or just a singing sensation in your shower, everyone is welcome to audition. Those selected to sing will be flown to New York City and provided accommodations to join our choir Thanksgiving week and appear in this year’s Parade! 

The health and well-being of our Parade staff and volunteers continue to be our top priority. As part of this year’s health and safety plan, it’s important for you to know that all participants in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participate. Learn more here.
