WELCOME TO MAINSTREET MUSICALS
If you’ve written a musical and would like to find out “what you’ve got,”
YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!
Launched in 1984, MainStreet’s Evaluation Program remains the core of all MainStreet activities. After submitting your work, it will be reviewed by MainStreet Evaluators (vetted professional directors), and you will receive the critical analyses prepared. * If the first Evaluator “Recommends” your work, it will go straight into the Library. If the first Evaluator DOES NOT “Recommend” your work, it will go to another Evaluator. A work identified as "ready for development" becomes a Recommended Work and its materials are posted in the
Library on the MainStreet website.
MainStreet offers an Evaluation submission for a fee of $35
with development opportunities to follow for Recommended Works.
Recommended Works are eligible for MainStreet’s Development Opportunities which include Campus TableReads, AudioStages, Benefits and more.
If you would like your work to be considered for our
Library and Development Opportunities,
SUBMIT YOUR WORK FOR EVALUATION NOW!
It’s easy:
On the dropdown menu to the left, under “Select Program” click “Submit a musical”.
The page will shift to Guidelines providing further information and instructions.
The Evaluation Program Has No Deadlines.
MAINSTREET MUSICALS, Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization.
All submission fees cover administrative costs.
Mainstreet’s Evaluation Program provides creative teams with detailed constructive feedback from professional directors and dramaturgs who determine whether musicals are sufficiently stageworthy to warrant their inclusion in the MainStreet Library.
MainStreet’s Opportunities generate creative partnerships with universities and regional developers. Partners utilize the abundant resources of the American heartland to bring new, valuable cultural opportunities to areas generally under-exposed to new works.
