To apply for the M.F.A. in Studio Art program at the University of Miami, you will need to submit an initial application to the Graduate School's Office of Admissions (apply here). Please send your official transcript(s) and TOEFL scores (only for international applicants) by February 15, 2020 to:

In addition, you are required to submit the following information and materials through Acceptd:

  • A portfolio of 20 digital images of personal artworks (GIF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG formats; do not exceed 20 images).
  • A personal statement of interest in the M.F.A in Studio Art program at the University of Miami (PDF format).
  • The names and email addresses of three references:
    • After you submit your application, these references will automatically receive an email from Acceptd to upload a letter of recommendation for you.
  • The completed Teaching Assistantship application form, if you are applying for financial assistance (i.e., stipend and tuition waiver). The form can be downloaded as a PDF here:

Applications for admission into the M.F.A. in Studio Art program are only considered for the Fall semester following the application deadline.

Once the application portals open, the deadline for submission of all materials to the Graduate School and the Department of Art and Art History is February 15, 2020 for Fall 2020. You will be informed about the status of your application by April 1.
