University of Montevallo Theatre

The University of Montevallo Theatre program is a student-centered professional training program that prepares students for work in the performing arts industry. We are committed to a liberal arts foundation as an effective means of preparing students who want to pursue theatre as a life’s work.

This commitment is reflected in the system of training that stresses the collaborative and interdisciplinary nature of the theatrical performance and production process.

The Department of Theatre offers the following degrees:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Theatre
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Acting
Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Design and Technology

Admission to the BFA Musical Theatre, BFA Acting and BFA Design and Technology degrees are by audition only. We are having both in-person and virtual auditions. Equal consideration is given to in-person and virtual applicants.
