Next Generation Jazz Orchestra

Auditions HAVE BEEN EXTENDED for the 2022 Next Generation Jazz Orchestra!

Monterey Jazz Festival is excited to open the auditions for our Next Generation Jazz Orchestra (NGJO) for the 2022 season! Students can audition for the NGJO until APRIL 1, 2022. Led by GRAMMY-nominated pianist and composer Gerald Clayton, musicians will rehearse (virtually) throughout the summer and perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival at the end of September, as well as participate in a Master Class with our Artist-in-Resident, Christian Sands!

You will find your audition materials under the Resources tab.  Please include the "All Applicants" resource in your application.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

1. All student musicians entering or enrolled in high school through June 2022 are eligible.
2. To audition please submit your video online at Acceptd  The deadline for video auditions is APRIL 1, 2022.
3. Video auditions may include live accompaniment or recorded accompaniment. 

The selected students will be announced Friday, April 29, 2022.
