The Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo is a small ensemble comprised of a select group of top high school young women jazz players from across the U.S. The ensemble will have a rhythm section as well as brass and woodwind players, possibly a vocalist. The group will be selected based on set criteria through video auditions. Students can audition until APRIL 1, 2022.  Led by award-winning bassist, vocalist, and composer Katie Thiroux, musicians will rehearse (virtually) throughout the summer and perform at the Monterey Jazz Festival at the end of September, as well as participate in a Master Class with our Artist-in-Residence, Christian Sands!
