Orfeo Music Festival (OMF) is an international classical music event widely known for its artistic excellence. The Festival takes place in Europe each summer, typically in the Italian alpine town Vipiteno. World-class musicians return year after year to OMF to welcome audiences with a series of solo and chamber music concerts and to mentor the new generation of musical talent who dream of reaching the highest standards in music performance.

From the time of its founding in 2003, the Festival’s mission is to celebrate and promote artistic excellence with classical music performances of the highest standards and to offer a superior education to the new generation of musicians with the world-class artists, to nurture creativity, and to build lasting human and artistic bonds. The public and participants are drawn to OMF for the exhilarating music-making and culture created here every summer.

2023 Orfeo Academy Programs

Instrumental Program for Pre-College, College, Amateur participants and *(NEW!) Professional Development for Educators.

Private Instruction Program. The emphasis is made on individual instruction by Orfeo's Artists in Residence, enhanced by involvement in such group activities as Master Classes, Performance Classes, and, if offered, singing in choir if interested as well as playing in two festival orchestras.

Chamber Music Program. We believe that it is very important for young musicians to play chamber music together where they learn interactive musical skills and discover new sides of their musical talent.  You may select to concentrate on chamber music playing rather than individual lessons during your stay at Orfeo this season. Repertoire and groups are organized in advance. Students are assigned specific compositions and have parts to prepare before they arrive.
