The City of Oxford, Alabama, is proud to host the Rubato International Piano Competition from August 12–16, 2025. This groundbreaking competition is the first of its kind, seamlessly integrating both classical and jazz categories into a single event. Young talents, ages 10–27, from across the globe will converge for this prestigious occasion, alongside representatives from renowned schools, universities, and conservatories throughout the United States

Scholarship Opportunities
The Rubato International Piano Competition offers scholarships to assist with international travel, accommodations, and meals for qualifying competitors who get selected in the preliminary round.

Masterclasses
All the selected semifinalists will participate in six masterclasses presented by our prestigious jury the week of the competition.
The Rubato International Piano Competition (RIPC), an official Steinway & Sons International Competition, offers aspiring pianists exceptional opportunities to advance their professional careers on the global stage. Our competition will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of jurors, including Steinway Hall of Fame artists, experienced judges from the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, as well as renowned artists and professors from leading universities and conservatories worldwide. This esteemed jury brings a wealth of expertise and ensures that every participant receives thoughtful and meaningful feedback.
The RIPC provides an extraordinary platform for young pianists to showcase their talents on an international stage, which serves as a pivotal step in their artistic development.
