Welcome to the online application portal for The Glenn Gould School (GGS) of the Royal Conservatory! The Glenn Gould School is an internationally-recognized centre for professional training in music performance at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The faculty consists of internationally-acclaimed performers, teachers, and scholars, each of whom is dedicated to providing Glenn Gould School students with the highest standards of training and evaluation.
Every student accepted to the GGS receives substantial scholarship assistance. Scholarship levels are determined from performance in entrance auditions and financial need.
Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year will open on October 1, 2022.
The GGS has three programs, open to pianists, vocalists, and orchestral instrumentalists:
1. Bachelor of Music; Performance (Honours) (4-year undergraduate)
2. Artist Diploma Program (ADP) (2-year post-bachelor)
All cello, clarinet, piano, violin, and voice applicants must include a pre-screening video with their application consisting of three pieces from the audition repertoire list.
Applicants will not need to complete a pre-screening recording if they are either of the following:
a. A current Taylor Academy student applying for the B.Mus Performance (Hons)
b. A current GGS student applying for the Artist Diploma Program
Applicants whose first language is not English or the previous 4 years of post-secondary studies were not completed in the English language must submit additional proof of proficiency that meets the minimum guidelines for admission. Please see the required scores here.
Prospective applicants must prepare the following items:
- Pre-screening recording with three contrasting works (required for cello, clarinet, piano, violin, and voice only). Current Taylor Academy and GGS undergraduate students are exempt
- High school transcript (Bachelor of Music applicants only)
- Post-secondary transcript(s)*
- Two recommendation letters (references must upload letters directly to your application as prompted)
- Current repertoire list
- Audition repertoire list
- Musical Resume/CV
- Please be sure to include professional work experience
- English Language Proficiency (International non-English speaking applicants only)
- $150 application fee
*Transfer credits may be awarded for qualifying courses passed with a minimum of B- (70-73%), provided that the sending institution is recognized by GGS. Students applying for transfer credit must declare all previous formal studies and arrange for official transcripts as well as course descriptions and detailed course outlines from all previously attended post-secondary institutions at the time of initial application for transfer credit.

3. Rebanks Family Fellowship and International Performance Residency Program (1-year post-graduate)
Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year will open on November 1, 2022.
All applicants for the Rebanks Family Fellowship must submit a pre-screening video recording.
