Visual Art + Design
Learn the rules, then change the rules

In the Art + Extended Media program, you’ll explore all types of media, from ink and clay to steamrollers and fire. Become as fluent creating with a computer as you are with your hands. You’ll also participate in an internship and complete a year-long capstone body of work that is exhibited in the annual BFA show. Amplify your authentic voice and learn to redefine what's possible in the arts, industry and beyond.

In our Interior + Spatial Design program, you’ll learn to be a problem-solving designer and visionary who exercises a range of skills, technical knowledge, and professional tools, including AutoCAD and Revit. Our curriculum includes studio classes, an internship, and a self-designed capstone project to prepare you for entry-level positions in interior design and the NCIDQ-certification. Conceptualize and design spaces that influence how we experience our world.

The Graphic + Media Design program is a nationally recognized BFA program combining traditional graphic design with media-rich technology. You'll become equally proficient in print, UI/UX design, video, animation, and digital imaging. Our curriculum includes coursework, internships, and a capstone project based on industry-recognized standards for professional designers. You will graduate with the skills, confidence, and business savvy necessary to succeed in the visual communication industry.

The Theatre Institute at Sage
The world is your stage

Our Musical Theatre program is offered to students who demonstrate excellence in acting, dancing, and singing and are committed to professional musical theatre careers. The Theatre program offers trainings in the creative processes of theatre, as well as the theory and history of theatre, arts management, and stagecraft.

In both programs students are constantly active as performers, technicians, teachers, and art administrators. With a jam-packed season and two theaters on one campus, you'll always be working on the next show. We require students to do an intensive internship to work alongside amazing local, regional, and international companies - and we know that internships = careers.

*Students applying to the Musical Theatre program must perform an entrance audition. These auditions can be conducted in person or remotely.

Expressive Arts in Mental Health
Discover the power of art to heal

This program offers an equal focus on the arts, psychological theory, and practical clinical skills. Take visual arts courses then dive deep into your area of interest with a minor in Music, Dance, Theatre, or any of the other minor options. You'll gain direct, hands-on professional experience by completing two practicums and an internship. This degree sets students up for the career world, to purse a master's in Art Therapy, or any graduate degree in counseling, occupational therapy, school counseling, and art education.
