Welcome to Salisbury University’s Music Program! Our program is fully accredited with the National Association of Schools of Music and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Instrumental or Vocal Performance, Music Technology, and Music Education, as well as a customizable Traditional (Liberal Arts) degree.

We offer a diverse and flexible undergraduate program that encourages students to truly grow as musicians. Our uniquely designed curriculum includes opportunities to study and perform music not only within the European Classical tradition, but also in distinctively American genres (jazz, rock, and pop) and other cultures worldwide. We pride ourselves on offering students a supportive “one-on-one” environment that allows maximal progress towards careers as professional musicians, music educators, or music industry professionals.

All of our degree programs require a musical audition for entrance. (Instrument-specific requirements can be found on our website.) Students who do not pass the audition may be given the option to begin their studies at SU as a “pre-music” major. Pre-music majors take our introductory courses and study with our applied faculty for a semester that culminates in a second audition attempt.

Auditioning students may either upload performance videos or request an in-person audition on SU's campus. They will also be asked to interview with a faculty panel. During this interview, applicants should have access to their instrument to complete a sight-reading evaluation and perform scales/exercises as requested.

In addition to passing a musical audition, all students must be formally accepted to Salisbury University through a separate process. This application process can be completed online by clicking here.

Salisbury University music students have many scholarship opportunities available to them, including four designated specifically for incoming students. To be considered for these scholarships, students must have their audition submitted through this site by March 15th.
