The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre at Shawnee State University offers the student creative opportunities as well as a grounding in liberal arts study. The program is designed to develop the professional skills required of musical theatre artists while also providing a comprehensive academic foundation.
Students will refine their music, dance, vocal, and acting skills to attain the performance levels required for a professional audition, or admission into a graduate program. Student progress will regularly be evaluated through coursework, juried performance and production critique.

All Musical Theatre Program candidates must be accepted into Shawnee State University prior to the start of fall semester 2024. To apply to Shawnee State University use the admissions link HERE.
Auditions: 2024-2025 Academic year auditions will be held on:
1. Saturday, February 24, 2024
10am-2pm
2. Saturday, March 23, 2024
10am-2pm
3. Saturday, April 13, 2024
10am-2pm
Self Tape Auditions will be accepted until July 28th please email your self tapes to Program Director Summer Logan slogan@shawnee.edu
Live in person auditions will be held at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts, Portsmouth, Ohio
