ABOUT US:
Short North Stage is a professional non-profit regional theater company located in the heart of the Short North Arts District in Columbus, Ohio. As an SPT Tier 6 Equity theater we produce 5 musicals, 1 play, and occasional special performances in our season. We love to feature exciting new takes on classics, edgy and provocative new works, and stories that will truly resonate with our audiences. Our mission to feature creative teams, onstage talent, and offstage talent with diverse, unique voices remains strong as we continuously look for qualified applicants.
Short North Stage is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and invites artists of all gender and non-gender conforming identities, ethnicities, and ages to audition. We are very excited about our upcoming season and are so glad you are too!
AUDITIONS! We are currently casting for the first show of our season - BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL. Invited in person auditions/callbacks are APRIL 2,2023. Online submissions are due by April 7. Please select program BEAUTIFUL LOCAL Auditions for an in person audition or BEAUTIFUL ONLINE Submission for online submission only.
Invited Auditions for the rest of the season will occur locally August 12 and 13 at our theater in Columbus, Ohio. Submissions for an in person audition will be due July 31. Online submissions will be accepted through August 18.
Equity (AEA) and Non-Equity contracts available. Please bring your Equity card with you to the audition.

If you can NOT attend our local auditions the above video submission materials may be submitted as your audition for consideration. Please choose the BEAUTIFUL Online Submission program.
IMPORTANT DATES/SHOW INFO
Rehearsals run Tuesdays thru Fridays typically 6-10:30pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am-6pm. Tech days are longer.
Shows are Thursdays thru Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Possible Saturday matinees could be added. If you are unable to perform in all show dates please do not audition.

- Resume
- Video of 2 short song cuts (32 bars) in the style of the show and/or songs that show off your voice. NOTE: If you need song choices see the Resource tab and use the callback material.
- Movement/Dance Reel (if you have one)
