Welcome to Studio Angelico! We seek to stimulate, challenge, support, and educate students to become:
  • Educated viewers with visual literacy and critical thinking
  • Professional artists with technical and creative direction
  • Thoughtful and responsible citizens in a global community
Studio Angelico is Siena Heights University’s nationally accredited Art Department and features innovative programs and majors that prepare students for the workplace while engaging them in the long history of artistic tradition and the cutting-edge world of contemporary practices.

Our flagship programs are the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art—with concentrations and minors in Photography, Printmaking & Book Arts, Art History, Ceramics, and User Experience and User Interface Design. Courses are also available in painting, drawing, sculpture, video, metalsmithing, art education, and art history.

Many art and design majors take complementary courses in theater tech, business, communications and, for those seeking admission to graduate programs in art therapy, psychology.

The Art Department offers spacious studios with up-to-date equipment, small class sizes with ample personalized instruction, and an emphasis on interdisciplinary art making.

Our program is supportive and diverse, with a strong sense of shared community between the students and the faculty. It is a welcoming and safe space that encourages experimentation and exploration of personal ideals, identity, and concepts through a wide variety of materials, processes, and technologies. Our faculty are actively engaged to guide each student toward accomplishing their goals.

Studio Angelico is also home to Klemm Gallery which both regularly features the work of national visiting artists, and also provides a professional venue for our BFA majors to mount their senior exhibition projects.
