The Songbook Academy® is a national summer music intensive that provides pre-professional training for high school students who love to sing! Whether you prefer classic Broadway hits or jazz standards, there is music here for everyone. Don't believe us? Just ask 2016 alumna Julia Cooper who starred on this season of NBC's The Voice!
During the week-long intensive in Carmel, Indiana, students have the life-changing opportunity to learn from Award-winning music and theatre professionals, educators from the nation's top university performing arts programs, entertainment industry vocal coaches and music directors, and talented peers from across the country. By attending the Songbook Academy, students join a network that provides national performance opportunities year-round.
To apply for the program, singers submit video recordings of themselves performing two contrasting selections from the Great American Songbook by March 15, 2022. All Songbook Academy applicants receive written feedback from the screeners who assess their performances! Forty students will be invited to participate in a week-long performance intensive on the campus of the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, the home of the Great American Songbook Foundation, from July 16-23, 2022.
We do offer scholarships and financial assistance! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about application and program fee waivers.
