South Texas Theatre Auditions

The South Texas Theatre Audition (STTA) provides colleges and schools from across the U.S. the opportunity to scout exceptional talent from the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. High school seniors and college transfer students who are seriously considering majoring in theatre in college present monologues, musical theatre selections, Theatre Education essays, and technical theatre portfolios for the consideration of college admissions representatives.

Virtual Auditions: 
Applicants should complete the STTA Acceptd application by Monday, November 13, 2023, at 11:59 pm CST. Colleges and Universities that are interested in a particular candidate will reach out directly with information regarding their application process. Please note that the Acceptd application is only a pre-screen; all applicants will still need to officially apply to any institution they are interested in attending. These institutions may ask for additional materials (including another audition or callback) as part of their application requirements. 

In-Person Auditions:
The South Texas Theatre Auditions will host an in-person audition on Monday, October 16, 2023, at South Texas College in McAllen, TX. Students are welcome to audition in-person AND submit an online application via Acceptd. You can read more about the in-person audition day on our website and register here beginning September 1, 2023. Registration for the in-person event will close on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:59pm CST.
