Summer Music in Tuscany was founded to provide the opportunity for musicians to have an authentic experience of Italian living while we enjoy making music together. We offer great music to the people of Sarteano and surrounding area, and the people of Sarteano share their cultural heritage with us.

For our summer 2022 program, we invite applicants for vocal studies, string studies (cello, violin, viola), wind studies (flute, clarinet, saxophone) and piano studies. Language of instruction is English. We offer each student an opportunity to study and perform to very high standards in a beautiful setting. We foster a non-competitive, supportive environment led by our experienced teaching artists.  We will be in residence in the Tuscan hill town of Sarteano from June 27 to July 11, 2022. Concerts and master classes will be held in the historic 45-box Teatro degli Arrischianti in the center of town.

There will be time to explore Tuscany, with included trips to Castiglioncello del Trinoro and Montepulciano. An optional trip to Siena for the legendary Il Palio race is an additional fee. Your stay at a modern, WIFI equipped, air-conditioned guesthouse (with large breakfast) is included in tuition. Students of all ages (18+) are welcome. Your level of musical proficiency should match that of an advanced undergraduate music student level and above, or you need to be recommended by one of our faculty members. If they are accepted in the program, exceptional students who are younger than 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Admission opens on Oct 1, 2021. A group of no more than 30 students will be accepted from around the world. Our initial admission deadline is February 15, 2022. Applications accepted after that date will be accepted on a rolling basis as space allows.  Should you have any technical problems uploading audition material, please use the green Help button on the bottom right of this page or call Customer Support at 888/725-2122.
