Department of Theatre, Dance, & Arts Administration

Welcome to the Department of Theatre, Dance, & Arts Administration at Southern Utah University.  Our purpose is to to nurture and challenge the creative process of arts and culture. Students within our degrees, create, perform, design, and manage within a variety of venues and stretch themselves creatively and scholastically by incorporating their comprehensive training and experience in all aspects of the live arts.  The University prides itself on personal attention and value, is ranked as one of America’s 100 Best College Buys, and is recognized as one of the top regional universities in the west by U.S. News and World Report.  

SUU is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). Our programs give students the opportunity to be mentored by professionals in main stage theatre productions, and within our unique collaboration with the Utah Shakespeare Festival through shared facilities, employment, and fellowship opportunities.  Students have the opportunity to create and perform their own work through our student production company Second Studio, or through departmentally sponsored black box grant productions.  This coupled with courses from invested faculty of national and international renown combine to make the SUU experience significant for everyone.
