The Tampa Bay Symphony has two annual competitions, which are at the core of our mission statement and focus as a performing arts organization. Our mission statement is:

“The mission of the Tampa Bay Symphony is to promote interest in symphonic music while enhancing and enriching the cultural life and educational experiences of our community.”

39th Annual Jack Heller Young Artist CompetitionAuditions are now being accepted for the Tampa Bay Symphony 39th Annual Jack Heller Young Artist Competition. The winner will perform as a soloist with the Tampa Bay Symphony. Instrumentalists, including pianists, and vocalists, are eligible. All musical selections must be from the standard orchestral repertoire, composed for that instrument/voice and symphony orchestra, and must not exceed twenty minutes in length. Selections must be in the public domain, otherwise costs will be covered by some/all of winnings. 

Competition finalists will perform at a public audition before a panel of judges to determine the winner.

The winner will perform with the Tampa Bay Symphony at the Spring 2025 Concert Series in May 2025 and will also receive a cash award of $3,000.
