Welcome to the Texas A&M University-Commerce Department of Music!

At A&M-Commerce, you will discover a vibrant and growing community of performers and scholars, world-class faculty, and programs built on a strong record of success designed to prepare musicians for careers in the 21st century.

The Department of Music offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music Education, Performance and Piano Pedagogy.  With over 300 music majors, the Department of Music is large enough to offer top-notch performing experiences, yet small enough to ensure personalized attention. You will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of performing ensembles including the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Chorale, University Singers, Percussion Ensembles, Jazz Bands and many other chamber groups. Our world-class faculty provides students interaction through classes, lessons, recitals and events with nationally recognized guest musicians. Participation in ensembles and lessons are also open to non-music majors by audition and we welcome students, regardless of major, to join us!

We are pleased to offer a wide variety of scholarships, which are awarded based on talent, scholarly preparation, departmental need, and/or ensemble participation.  Graduate assistantships and scholarship awards are also available to graduate students who qualify.

In addition to your Acceptd application, please feel free to call or e-mail us any time, we are always glad to hear from current and future Lions!
