Welcome to the Texas Chamber Music Institute!

Texas Chamber Music Institute (TCMI) is an immersive new summer chamber music program for violinists, violists, cellists, and pianists. Geared toward pre-professional young musicians in both junior and senior age categories, TCMI provides intensive solo and ensemble training with world-class faculty, performance opportunities, workshops dedicated to developing skills necessary to be a versatile musician, wellness sessions, and more. The week will culminate with performances at the state-of-the-art Van Cliburn Concert Hall and PepsiCo Recital Hall at TCU.

Audition Repertoire

Junior Program (age 12 - 18)
Two short pieces or one longer movement with or without accompaniment (up to 15 minutes of music).

Young Artist Program (age 18 and up)
Required: Two contrasting pieces with or without accompaniment. Individual movements are acceptable.
Optional: A movement of a chamber music work can be submitted in addition to the two contrasting pieces/movements.

Ensemble(s)-in-residence Fellowship
Two to three contrasting pieces (~30 minutes of music). Individual movements are acceptable.

Collaborative Piano Fellowship
One solo piece & one movement of a duo sonata or other chamber music work.


Application Fee & Deadlines:
February 15, 2024 (early bird): $75 (individuals), $125 (pre-formed ensembles)
March 15, 2024: $100 (individuals), $150 (pre-formed ensembles)
