The University of Central Florida Department of Music is a comprehensive music school featuring a world-class faculty.

Undergraduate students at UCF may pursue the following degrees: Bachelor of Music in Performance, Jazz Studies, or Composition; Bachelor of Music Education; or Bachelor of Arts in Music. 

Graduate students may pursue a Master of Arts degree in Music with the flexibility to focus their study in Performance, Composition, Conducting or Jazz Studies. The Master of Arts in Music OPUS Scholars will have 2 openings for 2024 admission

The new Graduate String Quartet Program is offered through the Master of Arts in Music, which is a two-year degree. The curriculum emphasizes intensive work with world-class faculty through lessons and coachings, and offers an array of performance opportunities in chamber music concerts and large ensemble including the Orlando Philharmonic. String Assistantship positions are open for violin, viola and cello and include full tuition plus a stipend.       

Music students at UCF have the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings, ranging from large ensembles to chamber ensembles and solo recitals. Large ensembles at the university include orchestra, three concert bands, two jazz bands, three choirs and marching band. Chamber music opportunities include jazz combos, brass quintets, percussion ensemble, flute choir, saxophone choir, string quartet and numerous other small ensembles.         

In addition to the ensemble experience, all music majors receive private instruction directly from artist faculty members in an energetic and friendly environment.         

Prospective students submitting audition recordings through app.getacceptd.com will be contacted by a representative of the UCF Department of Music regarding their application status. In addition, you may be asked to schedule a live audition at the applied teacher's discretion.
