Welcome to the University of Indianapolis Department of Theatre on Acceptd! Whether you’re interested in performance, directing, design, stage management, theatre education (teaching), or theatre general studies, UIndy’s Theatre program uniquely educates you and develops your skills and talents across multiple disciplines of Theatre.
First of all, you do not need to audition or present a portfolio for admission into our program. The audition/portfolio review process is strictly for Theatre scholarships. To begin your UIndy Theatre Scholarship application process, choose the specific program in which you are interested from the dropdown on the left. Click the green "Apply to" button and you will be directed through the steps to upload your headshot, resumé, video clips, writing samples, and/or design portfolio. You are encouraged to submit your materials for scholarship consideration as early as possible, but all submissions should be completed no later than April 1.
Once we have received your completed audition/portfolio, we will review your material and notify you of our decision regarding any scholarship award. Please keep in mind you must still apply and be accepted to UIndy—a scholarship award does not guarantee admission to the University.
If you wish to audition or present your portfolio in person, we also have a number of on-campus audition/portfolio review dates. Please visit the Scholarship page above for upcoming dates. Should you wish to attend one of these dates, we encourage you also to schedule an official campus visit through our Office of Admissions.
If you need any additional information or have any specific questions about the Theatre scholarship or our program, please email the Theatre Department Chair, Dr. Elisabeth Hoegberg at ehoegberg@uindy.edu.
