University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point School of Performing Arts

The School of Performing Arts (Theatre, Dance, and Music) at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is accepting applications to join us in the Fall of 2024 starting September 1st, 2023. The School of Performing Arts is large enough to offer a variety of experiences and challenges, and small enough that our students receive the individual attention they need. Our curriculum is innovative and emphasizes creativity. 

The Department of Theatre and Dance offers five theatre and dance degree tracks, including three highly competitive conservatory-styled BFA programs in Musical Theatre, Acting and Design & Technology. In addition, we offer two liberal arts degrees: the BA Dance major and minor, with coursework in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and theoretical studies, and the BA Drama major, which allows students to study multiple focused areas such as playwriting, dramaturgy, directing, and design.

The Department of Music offers four music degree tracks, including BA Music, BM Music Education (Choral Certificate, Instrumental Certificate), BM Jazz Studies (Composition, Performance), BM Performance (Applied Music with Voice Emphasis, Applied Wind Instrument or Percussion), as well as a Music Minor and Music Certificate.

We also invite applicants to consider our Arts Management program, housed in the Department of Theatre and Dance. These transferrable and useful skills in the Arts Management program are a great addition to a young artist's education. The School of Performing Arts accepts a limited number of new students each year so, if you want to be learning, working and performing with a select group of students under the guidance of our world-class faculty: 

1. Submit your University application for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at University of Wisconsin Online Application
   1. Please note: you must be accepted to UWSP before being accepted into one of the areas in the School of Performing Arts.
2. Submit your Department of Theatre and Dance or Department of Music application and schedule your audition/interview on Acceptd.
   • Applicants who may require assistance with the $30 Acceptd application fee can contact Accept directly for a potential application fee scholarship.

Reminder: Applicants are able to apply and audition prior to knowing their acceptance status to UWSP. However, applicants MUST be accepted to UWSP before being admitted into one of the areas of the School of Performing Arts.
