Webster University, Conservatory of Theatre Arts

Welcome to The Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University!

We look forward to getting to know you through the audition and portfolio review process, and I am sure you are eager to begin your journey towards professional training in the arts of theatre.

Located in St. Louis, Webster University provides a unique, personal approach to education. Within Webster, Conservatory has been training theatre students for the profession for over half a century. Whether you are a performer, designer, stage manager or technician, our emphasis on skills, coupled with practical experience, will set you on the right path. One of the distinguishing elements of Conservatory is its integrated association with professional theatre companies, two of which are located on campus: The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. We also enjoy a one of a kind association with a professional musical theatre, The MUNY.  These partnerships provide students with unique opportunities in performance and production unequaled at any other undergraduate institution. To witness the best of the profession producing exceptional theatre close up is a rare opportunity.

We select our students through auditions and portfolio reviews at the Unified Auditions, theatre festivals nationwide and auditions here on campus. We are excited to partner with Acceptd as a vehicle for you to give us an increased sense of who you are. Remember, all of our candidates for admission must complete our audition/portfolio review process and audition in person to be considered for acceptance.

We welcome your interest! Email us, go to our website, come visit us, find out who we are. We know you will find the faculty, challenges and training exceptional.

To get you started, you will find specific information on auditions and portfolio reviews here, and you can make your application here. Your campus visit is arranged by emailing directly to campusvisit@webster.edu.

Hope to see you soon!
