WINTERGREEN MUSIC LEAD Cooperative

The Wintergreen Music LEAD Cooperative offers advanced musical study in the breathtaking setting of the Wintergreen Resort, high in the heart of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. This initiative is designed for students on the cusp of their professional careers, with interest in gaining summer festival experience in a chamber music environment. Students will combine expertise and musicianship to move boldly forward, and work to create awareness of inequities in their field. We welcome students for an intimate and focused program experience in instrumental studies, vocal studies, collaborative piano, composition, conducting and arts administration. All areas of discipline will work collaboratively with one another and learn the skills needed to become the next generation of musical leaders.

Recent students have come to us from Bard Conservatory, The Boston Conservatory, Boston University, Cleveland Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music, Florida State University, George Mason University, The Hartt School, New England Conservatory, James Madison University, Juilliard, Peabody, St. Petersburg Conservatory (Russia), SUNY-Purchase, the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, University of Michigan, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Iowa, UNCGreensboro, and many colleges, conservatories and universities around the world.

If you are accepted, tuition is FREE! A $200 deposit will be required to hold your space and will go towards a variety of experiences while on the mountain.
