Below is information regarding scholarships at the AZ Thespian Festival. Please read carefully, and make sure you complete all steps necessary by required deadlines.  Good luck!

2023 ARIZONA THESPIANS SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION REGISTRATION INFORMATION

This year’s scholarship auditions will be performed live in-person for college/universities. They will also be live streamed for our schools from out of state. Students will perform auditions live at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Phoenix on Friday November 10, 2023. There are no exceptions.

To even consider auditioning for scholarships:

  1. You must be a graduating senior with a 3.0 GPA, un-weighted.
  2. Be an inducted Thespian at the time of auditions.
  3. Must intend to major in theatre.
    1. Minors in theatre are not eligible
  4. You must complete Scholarship Registration to be eligible.
  5. You MUST attend one of the following scholarship  informational workshops (failure to attend will make a student ineligible):Wednesday
     

Wednesday October 4th at 5pm: Technical Theatre Audition Info Google Meet-Led by Carina Stiles

Thursday October 5th at 5pm: Acting, Vocal & Vocal/Acting Audition Info Google Meet-Led by Melissa Carroll-Jackson

In-person audition students must register using this landing page by Thursday September 21, 2023. (Essay scholarship entrants do not need to register on Acceptd).

DEADLINES: All audition materials should be added by the Thursday September 21st, 2023 registration deadline. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility to audition.

Steve Halper Theatre Educator Scholarship $1500.00 (Available to any student intending to major in Theatre Education)

Theatre for Life Scholarship $1500.00 (Available to any student who will incorporate Arizona Thespians’ core values; ownership, diversity and gratitude, as well as what they have learned through theatre arts in future jobs or community service positions.)

*Ellis Jordan Memorial Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student intending to major in theatre)

*John Siler Memorial Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student intending to major theatre)

*AZ Thespian/EdTA Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student intending to major in theatre)

*Amy Bennett Memorial Music Theatre Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student intending to major or minor in MUSICAL theatre)

*Technical Theatre Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student intending to major in technical theatre or production)

*Ovation Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student intending to major in theatre.)

*Playwriting Scholarship $1500 (Available to any student submitting a 15-30 minute one act play.)
